Dates and opening hours 2026
"Around the town hall and Roland statue (UNESCO World Heritage), the atmospheric Bremen Christmas Market invites you to stroll among its more than 170 festively decorated stalls from 23 November to 23 December 2026," writes the City of Bremen. The Schlachte-Zauber on the Weser runs during the same period.
Opening hours are Sunday to Thursday from 11:00 to 20:30, and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 to 21:30.
The Schlachte-Zauber on the Weser
The Schlachte-Zauber is the maritime part of the Bremen Christmas Market. Along the Schlachte Weser promenade, medieval stalls with craftwork, rustic taverns and a pirate village await, while the ships at the quay glow in blue light. It is open from 23 November to 23 December 2026, daily from 11:00, and opens on Monday, 23 November, at 18:30 with fireworks over the Weser (City of Bremen).
An illuminated circular path leads from the market square through Böttcherstraße down to the river.
How to get from the hotel to the market
By bus and tram (Monday to Friday): The "Autohof Hemelingen" stop is right by the hotel. Bus 29 runs about every 30 minutes on weekdays to the Weserwehr stop, where you change to tram 3 to Domsheide, just a few steps from the market square. Together this takes around 35 minutes. The last connection back departs from Domsheide shortly after 11 pm on weekdays. A day ticket costs 9.50 € for one person and 13.00 € for two (VBN price list). For your exact connection, check the BSAG timetable information.
By taxi or Uber: The most convenient way into the old town and back is by taxi or via the Uber app, especially if there's one more mulled wine involved. Since September 2024, Uber has also been operating in Bremen. According to the official Bremen taxi tariff, each of the first ten kilometres costs 2.70 €, so the trip to the market square costs around 25 €. You can order a taxi by phone, or book an Uber ride in the app.
By your own car: It is 9.5 kilometres to the Am Brill car park, a quarter of an hour without traffic. There, each half hour or part thereof costs 1.20 €, up to a maximum of 12 € per day, or 5 € on Sundays and public holidays. During Advent the city centre is busy, so allow extra time.
Do I need a low-emission sticker?
Yes, for the city centre. The old town, Östliche Vorstadt, and parts of Schwachhausen and Neustadt are a low-emission zone, where you need the green sticker. This also applies to the car parks around the market square. Hotel NordRaum in Hemelingen lies outside the zone: if you arrive without a sticker, you can park with us and continue by bus and tram, taxi, or Uber.
Why stay just outside the city?
You arrive via the A1 without having to navigate the Advent traffic of the city centre, and your car stays parked overnight in front of the hotel free of charge. The next morning, the breakfast buffet is well worth it, with regional products and coffee from a Bremen roastery: Monday to Saturday until 10:00, Sundays and public holidays until 10:30, for 14 € per person.
For couples, the Comfort Double Room is a good fit, while families can choose the Family Room for up to three people or two connecting rooms. Cancellable rates can be cancelled free of charge until 14:00 on the day of arrival, should the weather not cooperate.
One more tip for a second evening: the Achim Christmas Market is only around 13 kilometres away and runs from 27 November to 30 December 2026, closed on the holidays from 24 to 26 December.
