Much more than just a waiting room

Hotels serve as a backdrop in many famous films. Whether it is the London Ritz-Carlton from the romantic comedy “Notting Hill”, where Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant found each other in 1999, the “Bellagio” in Las Vegas, which served as the setting for the gangster comedy “Ocean’s Eleven”, or the Timberline Lodge with its admittedly rather eerie hotel corridors from Stanley Kubrick’s classic “The Shining”: hotels bring together the most different people, who in “normal” life would probably never have met – and those encounters usually happen in the reception hall.

So hotel halls are far more than mere waiting rooms. This is where you meet for a coffee, look back on the day’s holiday or leaf through one of those regional newspapers you rarely get to see anywhere else. You can do all of that in our newly refurbished reception hall too. Waiting for you there are some cosy and equally modern armchairs and seating groups that invite you to linger. What we are especially pleased about, though, is the huge historic nautical chart. It shows the mouths of the Weser and the Elbe around 1721 with their original place and landscape names.
